So basically all the social media posts about Zijin walking away from arbitration is just utterly rubbish. Not only that, but AVZ have two legal fights to battle. Doesn’t sound like this is going to be resolved anytime soon.

These legal fights aren’t the formal reason for the suspension, the ML is. But the ML isn’t going to be issued until the ownership is sorted to indirectly the legal issues are the reason for the suspension. And if these continue to drag on, then so will the suspension.

At the end of the day, all countries decide who does what in their country. Laws allow companies to own and operate assets so if the DRC government was so on side with AVZ, they could just say they own x amount and here is the ML. Given they haven’t done this is surprising to say the least.
