    Gday guys just wanted to post a warning for those who are or are currently looking to sign up to a new internet provider. Just wanted to let you all know of the ordeal i just went through with my internet provider, People Telecom.

    This is how it went down:
    The problem started on the 8th of march conveniently situated two days after one of the worst storms Melbourne has been through and my connection was down for the second time. The first was on Saturday which everyone had gone through and then most recently on Monday the 8th of March. I gave them a call on Monday morning reporting the problem, i was then told to re-configure my modem to no avail. I had told them that i run a small business ie. trade on the stock markets and that time is of the essence to which they said they will address my situation with priority. They said that they would look into it and if the problem was not theirs that i would incur a $105 penaly to which i accepted. Monday afternoon i called again asking them for a progress update, i was then placed on hold while they investigated and i was then left to wait for 30mins! So i hung up.

    I had gotten no where and there was no transparency thus far so i gave them another call on Tuesday to which they told me that they were still diagnosing the problem, that was it. I called again later in the evening fuming, asking for a measly update on the situation and was told they were still diagnosing the problem. This was the second day that i could not trade in which i could have incurred losses (luckily my stop-losses weren't triggered). Tuesday Night i called and was told that my internet would be back up and running at 7pm on the following day, Wednesday. Called at 7pm on Wednesday due to my internet failing to be back online and they told me to give it another 20minutes. I called back in 20mins and then they told me that this would take another hour so please be patient. I called the technical support an hour later and was told that a line restoration was in place on the 15th of March!! I had nothing else to say i was completely ropeable.

    I was then just called up today and was told that i had finally had my connection back online. I asked if there was any compensation to which they had said it was solely my modems problem and that if i had re-configured earlier i would've been back online. They could only re-coup me from the day i lodged the complaint which was apparently yesterday, Wednesday the 10th of March.

    lols sounds like ones worst nightmare. Just wanted to know which internet connection you guys recommend. This will be the final month that i'm with People Telecom and i will be warning all of this incompetent internet provider. Bunch of clowns running the show.
