Get the popcorn out indeed! The last time volumes were this low was back in mid-2019 when the price was stuck around $1.50 through July and August and the start of September. It then jumped from $1.45 to $2.20 in a week as trading volumes took off - jumping to over 5m and over 6m shares on consecutive days after weeks of averaging only 326k to 398k per week. The last 5 trading day volumes have been down to an average of 574k, with today only 339k. The number of shares on issue are much higher now than in mid-2019, showing how quiet trading is at present. The selling has almost completely dried up and the price is poised for a potential big move higher if good news is released in the upcoming quarterly, which will probably be released on Friday morning. We are all hoping for more clarity on the timelines of the FDA approval process for GVHD, but there are plenty of other things going on in the background which could cause a similar price spike and high volume buying to that which was seen back in Sep 2019. The catalyst back in Sep 2019 was Grunenthal and MSB entering their Strategic Partnership for Back Pain. Dr Itescu has said he is working on more strategic partnerships and funding deals - any of which could be announced before the next trials are underway. None of this might happen in the very short term, but if it does, the low volumes and lack of speculation in the current share price means a positive announcement would be likely to see a similar big response in the share price.
