But your statement that EVs pollute on average half as much as an ICE over it's lifecycle is currently incorrect. In fact with the current production methods and energy generation mix, the average eV will take 10 years to break even from a carbon output perspective. And that does not take into account the carbon footprint of developing and manufacturing renewable energy sources (batteries, solar panels, turbines, etc).
Not saying we shouldn't buy EVs or bring on more renewable energy sources, but it's all food for thought.
