Just from a superior tech, EV vs. ICEV perspective, of the 2 dollars you spend per litre to run your ICEV, roughly 40 cents turns the wheels, with the remaining 160 cents wasted as friction/heat, therefore ICEV is 80% inefficient. To make those inefficiencies worse, producing fossil fuels consumes ~15% of the worlds electricity, coal, gas, renewables or whatever.

Yes, at this early stage of the energy transition, many EV's would be charged by a mix of coal, gas and renewable electricity generation, but given 80% of an EV's energy is used to turn the wheels, in a 100% EV fleet world, the world would use 60% less energy to power transport.

Only a small snippet of logic would be needed to appreciate the above comparison between the respective techs, but there's always room for ignorance or arrogance to get in the way, and which attitude has the greatest hindrance of ones will to see the obvious?
