The SA big battery hasn’t had a fire - that was the Vic big(ger) battery during construction.
Yes Li-ion batteries fade (and can catch fire). They also have fast response, small footprints and high RTE. Horses for courses … but LiPO4 is winning work in the markets specifically targeted as LDES strengths. Like how the f$&# did a flammable LiPO4 battery get specified to support H2 production in Australia? This needs to change.
