It's good to have constants - you seem to assume that all changes are for the better - assumptions are not facts. Part of the push to renewables is for allegedly planet issues or rather climate on the planet issues.
With all the EV's, solar panels and windmills surely there shouldn't be any more 'heatwaves' to contend with as by now these types of weather events should have shown some measurable 'normalising' by now. But alas, Californians are asked to limit their EV's from being charged.
But of course, it has got to do with all those nasty coal fired stations supplying the base load to do so - or in this case not to do so. Perhaps it will be all ok by the time winter arrives as heatwaves will be gone. Then Californians may be asked to curb their heaters due to cold snaps and yet to hear about EV charging.
Am neither your friend nor foe but am an observer from the sidelines.
