@watso - well I am going to have to re-consider an offer of friendship by someone who calls himself 'The Magnificent' - have had too many examples of males in my life (with the exception of my husband who was genuinely magnificent, but deeply humble as well) - to not be turned off by male presumptuousness - unless you are talking tongue-in-cheek, which I suspect you are.
I could write a long history here, but know that my knowledge is insufficient to know all the high-ways and by-ways of what makes humans tick.
just very briefly; the History of the Jewish people in the Western World (in the lands they migrated to - not their own history) is intricately influenced and shaped by the Catholic Church and its teachings and the various roles attributed to 'the Jew' in relationship to Jesus Christ, who, it must not be forgotten, was also a Jew.
The muslims had no such prejudices, having taking their own version of also Jewish Teachings as a Revelation by the Archangel **riel (Javreel) to Muhammad and making it fit their then still semi-tribal lifestyle. That lifestyle often involved warring tribes and Muhammad took it to great length, eventually involving all the remnants of what still existed through various pandemics of the former Roman Empire along the Eastern Mediterranean coast. They were the beneficiaries of moribund governments and administrations weakened by economic ruin as well as various epidemics.
The fact that they took that magnificent Christian city of Constantinopel, now Istanbul, is - to me - still a great tragedy, but their capital city is still in Asia Minor (Ankara).
It must also not be forgotten that jews and arabs lived harmoniously side-by-side for many centuries in Spain, until first the 'moors' were ousted and later the jews under a deeply religious christian queen - and the long journey of the jewish trader, tailor, jeweler, doctor, scientist, musician across Europe began.
Sorry for writing ethnic names in lower capitals, i am done with giving importance to people's nationality or faith - seems to me these are the cause of all our problems in this world.
You need to do a lot more reading, Mr Magnificent! Maybe we can talk one day!
Go well
Taurisk, the humble
