Hi TOU4U,
With the Democrats (just like with the ALP), its always a matter of:
1.
self denial;
2.
delusions of grandeur (just ask Gough);
3.
a fixated birthright; and
4.
because things did not go their way, its someone else's fault.
The Democrats (and their supporters) are still claiming a "stolen" election, even though they lost the popular vote by 3 percentage points, by 3.6 million votes, and by even more than that in the Congress.
Afterall, in 2000, Congress moved Republican. Since confirmed in 2002, and further affirmed on Tuesday. Indeed, for the first time in 50 years, a ranking leader (being the Democrats Senate Leader), Tom Daschle, actually lost his seat.
The trouble with self denial, and with uncertainty of proposition /messages delivered, is that the general public wants certainty of expression, and of approach.
Even if many do not like GWB personally, they at least know what the Republican party stands for. The same, however, cannot be said of this for the Democrats, or indeed for their "dream team" - who kept shifting and changing their views on matters, whether on the campaign trail, or in the Senate, and who kept trying to pull in voters with their cliched rhetoric, such as:
1.
"... and I'm reporting for duty (salute)";
2.
"... we offer hope ....";
3.
"... until every single vote is counted ..." (even though at the time, GWB was 134,000 votes ahead in Ohio with 130-170,000 provisionals to be counted.
The Democrats have lost their way, and are uncertain of what it is they actually believe in, or stand for.
Back in the 1980s, Reagan secured lasting reform to the Republican party which has held sway to this day.
In the 1990s, Clinto tried to do this with the Democrats. In some part, he succeeded, but evidently no where near far enough in order to achieve lasting, or efective, reform.
The Republicans may be able to do better than their current leader. But, the Democrats don't even have a leader, and its doubtful that they could do better.
No wonder they are trying to call out for Hilary, as their way of bringing back Bill.
