I also think there would be a very good chance of that happening, sooner than most think.
If I was looking to acquire ESS's Li asset the timing could be somewhere after the SS and prior to the Offtakes or cornerstone investor/partner~ Feb next year??
I think if we see $1.25 at that stage after the SS, With an additional 30% premium by an offer by the Suitor then a lot of punters would take that.
This premium will of course depend on the SS economics which have already been described by Tim as 'Mind-blowing' @ Spod prices of US $2500
If this initial offer then starts a bidding war then great for holders, but for the long term investors seeing this though to mining will maximize the value of the North Dome project.
Either way it would be a win for ESS holders or a big win if no takeover eventuates.
