Prices are also down in the USA.
Ferroalloy price decline to continue in USA
The downward trend in the global ferroalloys market affected the pricing in the USA. In October, prices for SiMn (65% Mn; 16% Si) declined to some $2,720/t (-$60/t month-on-month), while HC FeMn (75% Mn) was quoted at $2,440/t DDP ($2,620/t DDP in September). FeSi fell in price to $3,100/t DDP (-$1,310/t on average m-o-m).
The prices reported by OMH in the Sept qtrly are similar to those reported in Metal Expert.
Thankfully OMH is still profitable at these prices, I'd doubt whether many other smelters would be profitable with higher power prices.
Ferroalloy demand to remain low in Japan
Ferroalloy prices fell further in October on weak demand in Japan. SiMn (65% Mn; 16% Si) and HC FeMn (75% Mn) prices fell to some $1,045/t CIF (-$45/t month-on-month) and $1,040/t CIF ($1,090/t CIF in September), respectively. FeSi prices went down by $25/t to $1,690/t CIF.
