We've seen recent evidence of major Western institutions buying into NIC.
Tsingshan has been an honourable and generous partner supplying know-how and development efficiency while investing sufficient equity into NIC to reassure Western investors of their sincerity.
What is not helpful, is the belligerence of Western governments, including Australia, towards China. One look at cot-case USA should be enough for any sensible and caring government to eschew that model, yet the West is set in it's hostility towards China and at the same time supplying arms to tyrannical countries such as Saudi Arabia.
Probably, what NIC needs is for nations to come to their senses and accept they will do things differently.
So yes, investment in NIC is probably a long shot.
