The maths for how CO2 affects heat retention is simple, and doesn't require a leap of faith at all.
The amount of doping impurities in the silicon transistors on the computer you are using is less than one in ten thousand. Less than 0.01%. Do you think that's unimportant? Because without those dopants being implanted your computer's cpu would be a useless block of silicon.
Without understanding the maths, you don't have a basis to make a judgement on what percentages of a material are important or unimportant.
