The reason Peabody pulled the deal is due to the Qld labour government’s hipster royalties on coal. Why would they engage in another merger talk with a Qld based mining company with the same underlying risk? Quite ridiculous what Qld government has chosen to do. Crippling a major industry and job opportunities.
