WBC results not exciting and held back by the loss on sale of insurance businesses and related business income no longer received. Understandably everyone is over the stream of surprise one-off adjustments in recent years that always seem to be negative.
IMO if WBC can now run the streamlined business and avoid future errors then it is likely dividends will continue to grow with a slow increase trend.
Much of the share price drop today may relate more to overseas fund trading rather than a pure reflection of the financials released this morning. As observed by others there is a pattern of a building share price leading up to results and a drop in SP near or subsequent to announcements but before xdiv date. This reflects on trading opportunities as much as results. ALL IMO DYOR.
