I assume it would come gushing out (like oil?) as soon as it is intersected?
The 'mud' aka drilling fluid holds the aquifer reservoir or other reservoir fluids down due to it's density and weight of the column of fluid.
This is done and adjusted whilst drilling
When you perforate the well you can do it balanced or under or over balanced...ie reservoir will flow, or not flow or you have to 'top up' the well as it will flow into the reservoir after you perforate the well.
You could also hit a pocket of higher pressure fluid, which is why you need pressure control equipment when doing any well procedures so you can contain or control the well pressures
Anyone know who is doing the temp and porosity logs?
Baker Atlas? Schlumberger? or other well loggers Weatherford etc?
