Average price of new car being bought in Aus is sun $25k & the average
EV is at least twice that.

The current average L/100 Kms is about 8 and the average contribution that
that makes P/A in fuel GST & excise is say $1300 p/a

the current electricity tax/excise on electricity used by ev's os virtually Zero.

So for evs to pay their way in road and transport infrastructure annually
would amount to say 16c/Km. or $16/100 kms.

Short of that EV owners are bludging which given the cost of new EVs,
is equivalent to middle class welfare.

On the positive side , a complete transition to EVs will save Aus about $30 billion/P/A
in imported fuel but that will likely be counterbalanced by the increased $ value of imported EVs.

This, IMO, is why we should be now positioning Aus to be a signficant green manufacturer
of EV components and, IMO, this is why Triggy is on the track with green hydrogen for our
local manufacturers. We have oodles of bauxite & copper, 2 important components of EVs
