4. CONCLUSION
The project was completed under budget and successfully demonstrated that the Indirect- fire, multi-shot Grenade Launcher concept could be realized in a lightweight accessory launcher. Successful live fire demonstrations further proved that the system is operationally viable across a range of scenarios.
TRL levels for the IFMGL were increased from a 2-3 at the beginning of the program to a 6 at program completion. All objectives were and many were exceeded. The launcher has been
shown to operational commanders with requirements for a lightweight, handheld, accessory weapon that offers the added capability of a direct and indirect fire multi-grenade launcher with lethal and less-than-lethal projectiles.
Recommended next steps for the project are to expand the range of munitions to be used with the Indirect Fire Multi Grenade Launcher. Follow- on testing and certification of the launcher should also be considered to move towards an operationally deployable system.
