    the doom & gloom on property prices is overdone IMO

    the price of a property in Australia can only fall as far as the replacement cost of that asset......and if you look at any cost input (land, building material, labour etc) it would be a double digit % higher than even 2 yrs ago.....yes perhaps margins 2 yrs ago were very healthy, but in an economy like australia's where competition for any of those inputs is poor, you are unlikely to be able to build a basic house in a decent size city for 30% less than the current price of homes

    the price IMO can only fall so much
