The Upper Angwa trap is about 200km2, so it's possible to work out a really rough estimate of the amount of gas once we know the porosity, permability, pressure, gas content, how thick the gas column, how much nitrogen, co2 etc.

Very roughly if we had 100m of pay from just methane, at 20% porosity over 200,000,000sqm (there being a million sqm in 1 km2, then using an online gas expansion calculator I get a rough ....

200,000,000 sqm X .2 porosity X 240 gas expansion factor (based on 4,500 psi, 100*C low Co2, N2 etc) X 100m column height = .96tcm X 35.3 (change tcm to tcf) = 33.88tcf...

Pressure should be greater than 4,500psi, but the above is a conservative estimate for 100m of gas pay. Of course if the gas pay zone was several hundred metres thick, plus pressure higher, then the numbers go way higher..

It's the sheer size of the trap that adds so much value. Now if we have light oil...

The whole basin isn't worth billions, it's hundreds of billions to trillions, OK calm down...
