Adding Doxorubicin to the list of potential treatments that upregulate FTO causing acquired resistance. In this case Doxorubicin appears to induce STAT3, which then triggers FTO upregulation causing resistance.
We can see the IC50 values on the resistant treatments go up, this correlates to an increase in STAT3 -> which induces FTO upregulation. Inhibiting FTO is perhaps why Zantrene is such a good combo with Doxorubicin.
This is all in addition to the actual cancer itself upregulating FTO and thus benefiting from Zantrene at low dose.
