You seem to be missing the point that there is nothing material for CUE shareholders in this deal.
The well gets drilled either way, the prospect has near (but perhaps not near enough for contract signing) the same value for CUE, and CUE has 15% (uless MEO really stuffs up and gives back 35%).
I doubt (but do not know) that Petrochina are influencing anything. Petrochina certainly do not control CUE, and do NOT have even one member on the board. They get to vote at the AGM like the rest of us.
If CUE are not signing something, then I assume they have very good reason. As for today's sp, who that matters cares? a handful of small impatient traders - sorry, not what this company is there for. They should try the hype, thrill, drill and dust mob, plenty to choose from.
