Putin was probably did get sucked into this, but the continuing escalation, incompetence that is costing lives on both sides, moving of goalposts of the stated objectives of the "special military operation" are the responsibility of Putin and his advisors.

Like how the hell do you justify using white phosphorus on residential areas? Weeks and weeks of missile bombardment, surely it would have been more effective to lead with a shock and awe of missles so citizens could shelter for a week or two, but they're dragging it out.

Im so sick of hearing excuses for Russia.
