It's a curious collection, with minnows like SSN, PBT and GTG nestling alongside BHP, WBC and AWC but looks like it could be a useful indicator for our market, so I'll keep an eye on it.
At the risk of being pedantic, the 4.77% rise is the year-to-date index gain. The overnight rise was a healthy 0.92%.
