You posted on P23 about the Vietnamese position on the Russian-Ukraine War, and the likelihood of VinFast selling into that market.

Vietnam and Russia have excellent diplomatic relations, partly due to legacy support in the American War (or Vietnam War for those outside VN), where millions of Vietnamese died. Russia leaped to North Vietnam's side with financial, economic, and military aid. This has not been forgotten and nor should it. Recently, Russia has been an exceptional strategic ally in stifling China's claims in the South China Sea.

I would expect Vinfast to sell into Russia and perform exceptionally well. Vietnam remains a destination for influential young Russian expatriates, and many I know in Hanoi have been vocal in their anti-war sentiment. These sentiments are shared quite publicly with their networks back home - an extremely powerful method of shifting perspectives. The opportunity for Russians to get outside their State-sponsored media bubble is positive, and only possible in an environment of healthy Vietnam-Russia relations.
