There will always be that market pressure to slam the price down on the smallest hint of bad or even moderate news.
With the demonisation of fossil fuels and the uncertainty induced by our political puppets these companies won't be returning to a sensible PE ratio.
Which is not to say they aren't worth holding. They should be highly profitable for decades to come, assuming they are not squeezed to death by insane policies at the State or Federal levels.
We just have to calibrate our expectations. And hope realists are elected.
