I love the internal combustion engine. It has had years of technical development, it comes in simple two stroke versions with no valves; or super complex multi valve four stroke with variable valve timing and all manner of sensing to provide feedback to the super fast electronic engine management systems.

But times move on. Vinyl LP records are now the domain of eccentric collectors. The multi wire telegraph lines were decommissioned decades ago, some of the poles remain to remind us of times gone by. Those of us who still have a 'land line' to our house rarely use it.

EVs are the next thing. The concept has been around for a long time, but recent innovations in battery and magnet tech now make them a viable competitor to the ICE.

Max torque at zero RPM is the biggest drawcard to me, along with the concept of a 4 motor traction control system distributing that torque for maximum push off the tarmac.

As I've said before, I don't give a stuff about being green. I will own an EV at some point, and the decision to buy it will be based on performance, driving pleasure and value for money.
