On Thursday and Friday there was a pending deadline to convince shareholders to pay up for the rights issue before the close of applications on Friday night. Today that deadline has passed and the phone calls and emails have stopped.

On Friday somebody thought it important to make a bold statement by placing a single large order at a price well above market and doing so well before open of trade for all to see. Today they don't see the need to do that.

On Thursday and Friday it was important for various parties that the SP stay well above 3c. Today it is not.

Lets face it. Most people are looking at every little thing for reassurance that Thursday and Friday's action was more than a flash in the pan. Desperately hoping the price wasn't manipulated with just a few over priced trades pushing up it dramatically in the final hours of the capital raising. They are nervous. Buyers suddenly disappear as quickly as they arrived and there is no longer any sign of them the first trading day after the close of the applications. Most know what this feels like but we all sit here hoping its not true.

The fear is setting in of what happens next week. Most of us are familiar with floods and have experienced one recently. A flood of new stock is what we fear next and the forecast is for a huge deluge next week. Long termers who sit on high ground won't care too much as they have seen this before and know that its a cyclical event and part of the process. Those speculating for a quick profit may find what happens next a little uncomfortable. Just like those with a house next to a river, there will be a few who start looking for somebody else to blame.
