Good answer in that you acknowledge "long-term trend of shareholder wealth destruction" which is mostly due to market participants themselves by not having a sound plan to follow or an exit strategy in case things go pear shaped.
Even the simplest piece of technical analysis can help immensely with keeping us on the right side of the market and before anyone accusers me of curve fitting the 26 bar weekly exponential moving average it's a recognized and accepted indicator. I don't need to explain how it works, most here will get it right away except those who refuse to even try.
