Okay, we'll see. I'm picking that he was referring to a tape-out to Leti. This current work with Leti is aimed towards discrete memory employing Leti's OTS selector.
I think Coby would be referring to the first full working chip. A demo chip, perhaps 1Mb or hopefully (considering it is a discrete chip) much larger, say 1Gb. After that would come a number of stages, from manufacture through to qualification. In the case of the embedded 1Mb memory array, that all took 15 months.
It is possible that a joint development agreement for the discrete memory might be struck with the tier 1 fab, but that would limit future earnings. I would much rather see WBT develop the technology themselves (with Leti) and then move to commercialisation as a fabless manufacturer.
