you my be right though in my view exaggerated and not exploring why this cycle happens. If I look at history however capitalism springs from opportunity- and an aspiration to rise in society. However that is focused on self and greed. It is aspiration for oneself not for betterment of society.
a small few of those who scrabble to the top over the blood, sweat and tears of others return something to society but others find that it is never enough. There is always someone richer, more influential and more powerful than yourself. That position distorts perspective and so the crumbling begins. You can only ride on the backs of others, holding out the beacon of wealth and self for so long
eventually the oppressed realise that the riches are not to be shared, the largesse will not make its way to them and the trickle down theory is an intellectually corrupt approach to the economy because it does not seem to consider human greed has few limits
socialism arises when people have had enough. When faith goes. When hope is no longer to feed, clothe and house people. It also arises when people realise that social values based on communal food must go hand in hand with any economic aspirations
the American model in particular was a way for the US and it’s leaders to attain dominance - and little else
