Frankly I interpret the above statement as "piffle". The public gets the benefit from the stimulus and ultimately the public and business will clear the deficit through the tax revenues from our growing economy. The assertion that the government would not be around to pay it off is also nonsense as I have just outlined where the money comes from. Further, this imo makes saying that the Government wont be around to clear the deficit, is both sanctimonious and nonsensical. It asserts a Labor Government wont be around in the coming years. Thats a big call for anyone to make, particularly as the next election is likely to be a shoe-in for the Rudd Labor Government. Even some Liberal supporting posters concede Labor will win the next election.
