@Cowboyinvestor and @JackAubrey really interesting analysis and discussion - much higher quality than what usually gets smeared on the walls of this forum...
I disagree with the suggestion that the LNP are not in power because of electoral distribution and gerrymander though. Just look at how many seats the Nationals won in Victoria relative to their share of the votes. Labor got more than 50 thousand more primary votes than the Nats and the Libs combined ie around 2%. Heck, the greens got about twice as many primary votes as the Nats and ended up with less than half the seats the Nats got. Victoria is (and for a long time has been) the most left-leaning state in the country.
