If you were in business and used YOUR funds to build assets and infrastructure to enhance YOUR business and the value of those assets, would you allow your competitiors use them for next to nixs, as Telstra is FORCED to do???
I bet you would not and you would tell those competitors to go build and MAINTAIN(very costly) their own infrastructure if they wanted to compete with you on an even playing field.. This is what has forced Telstra to be defensive, tough and less sympatheic in their business approach..
Also, this is where all the problems lay.. We have too many freeloaders in this country, encouraged by Government/s, who sponge off what Australians have worked hard to build and now you have Conroy coming along and taking this one step further and wanting to confiscate assets that belong to mums & dads/taxpayers/investors and superannuants.. Yes, you can bet that they will suffer for this at the polls..
