In respect of export grains, GNC is almost certainly doing about as much as it can (notwithstanding that nothing except God is ever perfect).

As contributor Portsmouth sagaciously reminds us, its shipping STEM is full in most months.

It also has to make sales overseas before it can send grain on bulk ships. I'm confident with its many years of experience and most importantly, comments in the past year or two that new markets have opened up that by and large GNC knows what it's doing.

However Portsmouth's suggestion that in future years GNC will have its own fleet of bulk ships is an interesting one. To me, it's risky and would involve a large capital cost unless the ships were secondhand: what does one do with the ships in drought years when the 'carryover' has already been exported from the last good year - does GNC then hire these ships to routes from other nations that enjoyed a good harvest? GNC also has no experience in merchant shipping IIRC. (Happy to be corrected).
