the NDIS was started as a pilot after Gillard was booted out by vindictive and vengeful Rudd.... Abbott Gov installed the NDIS and States involved ran the program with glee as it meant handing over responsibility and cost to Fed Gov. its been a tool for manipulating the federal budget fiscal balance ever since. - nothing at all to do with Gillard.
NBN started under Rudd and screwed up by Abbott. blowing out costs to provide an inferior infrastructure that now needs repair.
I agree that Labs favour regulation.... all the fault of the erroneous assumption that de-regulation, as done by Abbott et al, will benefit business (true) and be better management of the fiscal economy (false).
De-regulated business is able to disadvantage consumers and employees and this is the problem we have seen developing to the point where businesses no longer see protection of consumer data as important and so allowing scammers to infiltrate and steal consumer identities for sale.
this example shows how important adequate regulation is. Not over the top nanny-state regulations but competent and effective regulation which prevents improper results but doesn't constrain business activity.
Joe it seems to me that sometimes your head gets stuck in ideological incompetencies as practiced by the likes of Abbott. I wonder why.

''Gillard's reforms included a carbon price ... ''
What do you mean - price?
It was a tax.
A tax on all consumers.
Meanwhile deals were signed with the coal, gas and oil exporters to keep mining and producing the products that could now be taxed.
Sheer bloody hypocrisy from Labor.
''There will be no carbon tax under a government I lead" - hahaha !!!
