Sorry, but this is utterly irresponsible by this poster.

Asking for feedback from physicians is fine and should be encouraged when appropriate, but asking for advice on a breakthrough technology from a physician in the context of a doctor-patient relationship seems like a terrible idea. What is a doctor supposed to say?

This doctor may have to put a TAVR into this bloke, and why would he be passionate or even show any interest in a technology that he can't put into the patient?

There are existing treatments and I suspect doctors will always try and bring a patient around to one of those if they are available. They are also very busy people who are most concerned with what they have to deal with daily - is this doctor really expected to be up on the latest slides from the "Late Breaker" session at London Valves? Of course not and that does not mean he's out of touch.

The passive-aggressive style of the original post in this thread is distrustful, why bait posters into a reaction?

I suggest posters go back and look at some of the interviews and conversations involving Dr Reardon, who, although supportive of AVR, is generally a bit of a hardhead and pretty guarded in his enthusiasm.

    Good luck all.
