cheers donny... thanks for the tale.... takes me back, what.

but arts and social sciences have always been a hotbed of left wing extremism.... go to the economics or foreign studies blocks and run into radical conservative types, go the engineering and sciences for balance has been my observation.

uummm... seems I owe you an apology for my hasty and incorrect assessment - do I get a resubmit?

I too did a few years tutoring. not as easy a job as studying I found. much broader demands, particularly in pracs. but loved it all the same. probably because of such challenges. we never got into politics much until we got to the bar. funny but I used to see most students as focused on dancing that politics there too.

I also used to be active with some (literally) "hairy legged feminists" for some years too. women who were remarkable artists as I came to meet and know them.... but once the wine started flowing it was all politics. but they weren't militant, which is prob why I and a few others were invited in. much more philosophical and psychological. and family of course.

thanks for reminding me of those days.

    you write very well mate.
