Funny post. I remember you from your previous controversial posts. 1st fo all, does your cardiologist do TAVI? now cardiology is very very diversified and there is a lot of sub specialisations happening in the field. S/He may not even do TAVI and maybe a general non interventional cardiology and TAVI would not influence heavily his area of interest.
Secondly DUAVR is currently not in the market and unless your regional cardiologist has a specific interest in TAVI and been to the recent Boston and London meetings and attended all the sessions, it is not surprising that he has not heard about the product.
You may also noticed that Anteris have targeted the high volume TAVI cardiologists and being a regional centre of 200k people, chances are the hospital probably would even be doing TAVI.
I have recently spoken extensively to an interventional cardiologist who does mostly Medtronic TAVI , well 6months ago, before I brought DUAVR to his attention, he was not aware of the product, so there is nothing unusual about a regional cardiologist not knowing about AVR. However after he was briefed on the product, I ask the cardiologist to give me his honest opinion ,warts and all. His conclusion is the greatest risk for AVR now is for it to be acquired early and cheaply. BTW, I spoke to him not as a patient/clinician but more socially as I know him personally.
