Another thing that impressed me was that he always wanted to commercialise science. In fact he has formal qualifications in business as well as the best PhD in chemistry for his cohort.
In the “old days” for anyone with a PhD to suggest that research should be commercialised was almost heresy. Research was for academia and commercialisation was carried out by industry. The two never mixed. When I completed my PhD in ‘99 I also commercialised it and paid a royalty to the University. But that was highly unusual even then. And I had no business qualifications. (And it was embarrassingly modest; nowhere near the groundbreaking, world-class work Mohammed did and is continuing.)
So I can understand what is driving Mohammed and I am even more comfortable investing in Archer with him at the helm.
