    Dust, re "50 -60 years back many aborigines were being treated like absolute slaves..."

    I agree, to a point. I know the Aboriginal stockmen were paid a fraction of what a white stationhand received, OK?
    Everybody knew that. But all the non-working family members received their meat, milk, tea, etc.....and they had a home they identified with.......so werent they better off there in a form of slavery than totally dispossed and on welfare?
    Those guys still had their pride & dignity.....what have they got now?
