When you have such an unthinkable tragedy happen to your people; legal killing, raping, poisoning, shooting, enslaving, separations of families and children what do you expect? Imagine the psychological damage which has occurred and how this would affect subsequent generations. Dysfunctional families.. Im certainly not surprised. I don't blame them for getting on the drink.
Most alcoholics, paint sniffers, drug takers are trying to escape from pain, problems, reduce anxiety or cope with depression. I believe that the pain and dysfunction caused by the above is the reason behind these activities.
The only thing which will fix the troubles is time and understanding. They need to teach the real facts in school as you don't learn about this in the history books. Replace the union jack with the aboriginal flag. Give aboriginals the recognition they deserve, they were the first Australians, not Captain cook.
