I am aware of companies doing this from as early as 2017 - I personally met with some of the creators from Parsl; a Cannabis tracking company based in Melbourne.

They created a tracking 'token' (for back of a better term) which can be attached to a product and scanned to shows details such as:

- Strain/product type
- Growers history
- Growing area/origin
- Processing facilities the stock has passed through
- Processor information
- Shipping information
- Dosage/delivery instructions
- Reviews

Was an interesting product that appears to have taken off.
