Ukraine has gained ground for sure. They had 7 rounds of general mobilisation and are more and more deploying foreign contractors now.

Most of those examples were not head to head battles though or even artillery battles, they were Russian withdrawals to avoid losses. Russia did try to hang on in Lyman for a time but which HIMARS strike in Lyman turned the tide in that battle for example ? Ukraine had overwhelming offensive force vs smaller RF formation there and to preserve its manpower they withdrew. Ukraine subsequently unable to take Kreminna despite multiple attempts. Maybe their local HIMARS was destroyed and thats why they are unable to advance there? Is that what you think?

The large force from Kherson has been redeployed - its unclear if they just bolstered losses in Bakhmut or are massing somewhere else for a winter offensive.

Will be interesting to see if there is a momentum shift to RF or if Ukraine is able to advance
