Great post, BIGSKY.
I was particularly inspired by your experience in the Navy.
There have been many aboriginal servicemen....many who fought on active service...but few who really received the acknowledgement they desrved for their service.
All I know of looked back on their acceptance and cameraderie with their mates within their units fondly.
Ken Colbung, who I mentioned earlier...then their was Len Waters- the only Aboriginal fighter pilot in WW2 against the Japanese......they were among the best known.
This crazy thought occurred to me....to encourage more to join the services......silly thought?
There are even Aboriginal Vietnam veterans.
Just maybe some of these people could talk to disenchanted, disaffected Aboriginal youth and encourage them to join.
Even if it was only a trickle at first, it might catch on.
No?
