There aren't likely any other suitors...For a reason. GNX developed a low ROI project for ego purposes not financial return to the company. They could have spent that $780M on a fleet of batteries, of which half could have been built by now and probably already earning what K2H would. The desire to build a pumped hydro project cost significant time also, I think about 3 years from when they first marketed it to when the project went ahead.
