I’m hoping someone may like to assist me with locating some data and information for SYA trading activity relating to acquisitions by State Street around 30th November 2022.
You may remember this date, it was 2 Wednesdays back when the share price was quite obviously being driven up, ending +12.2% higher; timing-wise it was the last day of the month and also 2 days prior to the quarterly rebalance being announced and where SYA at the time had been sitting outside of the top 200 and at risk of being removed from the index in the rebalance should the share price not have increased like it did.
The trading data I am hoping to get further information on, is what Simply Wall St have reported as being State Street’s trading activities on this day. Simply Wall St reported a purchase which does not reflect the share price at the time/the volumes traded on the day/State Street’s own records of trades carried out on this date, which were made public domain upon their registration as a substantial shareholder.
I would normally just cross-check Simply Wall St’s data against another site’s, but all the usual sites (Yahoo, MarketIndex, * etc) they only report on trades made by Directors, Simply Wall St is the only site I am aware of that also report on trades made by Substantial Shareholders. I also can’t identify where they obtain their data from. I could just write Simply Wall St’s data off as a mistake, however I’m very hesitant to based on a couple of things things I find quite peculiar, making it worth investigating further.
I should note, this is in relation to an investigation I have been undertaking into recent market abuse experienced by SYA investors including market manipulation, short selling & collusion, of which I am confident I have collated adequate evidence of.
In the spirit of transparency, I studied law at University, but I am not a lawyer. I have however engaged a Barrister acquaintance of mine who has agreed give me a couple hours of his time over the Christmas break (on the basis I take him out for dinner and drinks first, the bar tab of which will be an eyesore, so you’re welcome, fam).
But if you review the brief documents I’ve attached pertaining solely to State Street and their trading activities and this particular matter that I’m querying (which is but a drop in the ocean as far as my overall investigation goes, but thought I would share as it demonstrates why I find the data peculiar and am seeking further clarification around what Simply Wall St have reported).
Please note data sources have all been cited in the foot notes. I welcome any input anyone may have on the data Simply Wall St have published. I’d just hate to write something off as an error when it could be a key piece in the misconduct I am investigating given even just the share price noted has piqued my attention, especially in conjunction with State Street’s SYA trading activities as a whole, which I find to be in contrast with Bank of America’s for example.
