If bots are allowed to run rampant on our stock exchange they will only bring the market undone. As they become more prevalent small investors and even large investors that trade "manually" will become disillusioned and disheartened leaving the market never to return as they will have been burnt one to many times. Eventually bots will be working against each other and that is going to create a very stagnant market.

How would that impact the listed companies on the exchange as any announcements made would have little impact. These companies would be trading without true market direction. By driving people out of the market these bot operators are doing themselves no favours either. Without the human emotion and sentiment attached to the market it is a whole new ball game. A little like the flooding tactics employed by the Sydney Swans a few years back it almost ruined the game of Aussie Rules. It was very slow back and forth with little action. Stagnant.

They will pick a stock were the sentiment is shot but they believe it has good fundamentals and the sp will go up eventually. Enter MEO, investors have been airing their grievances for some time now and understandably so, however i feel that MEO management has been the scape goat here. Which is only natural, they are at the top. While management try to broker the best deal for us investors for the LT growth of the company the bot traders have played on the emotion of these investors and rag dolled the sp for month upon month now. The more frustration they see the harder they work us over. They will allow the sp to have a little run every now and then only to bring it back down. This creates more angst and anger towards management, the perfect scenario for the bots to buy more stock at a heavily discounted price.

I do not think that bots should be allowed to run on our market. They WILL eventually bring it undone. By burying your head in the sand the problem will become worse. Just because the authorities turn a blind eye at the moment doesnt mean we shouldn't have our say. That is the only way that something will be done. I think its great that small investors have started to become aware of these operators and may also realise that the management of this company has been wearing the blame for the lamenting sp. This stock has been manipulated for a looooonnnggg time now.

I will be sending my own BST to the ASX, ASIC etc. and i urge everyone to take action and do the same. THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL!
