"Mukuyu-1 looks positive, but the failure of the mud motor on 202 and the need to plug and sidetrack worry me (about the geology which could lead to further flooding or instability). It is not a simple case of "whack a hole in the ground and pump it out". Note that the sidetrack is being done in order to complete their evaluation, and nothing yet is certain."

The mud motor failure.....the only time drillers worry about a mud motor is when they ignore the warning signs that the stator is on the way out and they leave the motor in the hole until it starts falling apart. Stator failures are the most common mode of failure for mud motors...

Flooding and instability? By flooding do you mean mud filtrate/mud solids invasion of the formation? Reducing mud weight and solids addresses this issue. Wellbore instability...again mitigated by adjustment of mud parameters plus minimizing time between opening of hole and logging of same.

If any investor bought into IVZ expecting them to be producing by April then they shouldn't be in the stock market and they should certainly steer clear of oil and gas stocks.
