The death of car production Carna wasn’t because the wages
It was because there was better options like Japan-South Korea- China and the tax drop on the EU cars .
In the 70s we had every Car company in Australia with a population of 10 million people
2015 the population was near 25 million and all the car companies gone .
GM-Ford- Toyota-Chrysler-Volkswagen-Mazda-Leyland- Volvo, they all was here in 60s and before.
In the 70s a brand new Holden was about $2.000, about 40 times of the weekly income of $50 .
year 2000 a new Holden or Ford was about $25.000 , about 50 times of a weekly income of $500 .
So isn’t the wages the factor , but the flooding of cheaper cars from Asia.
